• The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance provides a fast, efficient and unhindered Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for the people of the Thames Valley.

• The cost of keeping the Helicopter flying is about £1.7 million per year with all the funds coming from donations.

• The service is unique in that it can go quickly to a scene of an accident in remote or difficult places where road vehicles cannot reach and it avoids traffic jams.

• Critically ill or seriously injured patients can be transferred to the most appropriate hospital in a fraction of the time it would take by road.

The Air Ambulance is now based at RAF Benson.
