Thank you Beaconsfield
Prior to Santa’s visit to help the Rotary Club of Beaconsfield with their Christmas charity collections around Beaconsfield, it was decided to undertake a major rebuild to Santa's sleigh. In October 2007 a team of Rotary members built a new raised platform for the sleigh to sit on. This made it easier for the children to view Santa Claus when used on the early evening charity collections. The Sleigh and trailer were completely renovated and improved with a complete repaint, finishing trim; a superb 700 LED light display (donated by Konst Smide UK) and a new and modified sound system (help and donation by Gary, Penn Motors) completed the rebuild. The new improved sleigh was an instant success with children and adults alike, with a high profile Santa sitting proudly in his new sleigh, providing sweets and Christmas music for the Beaconsfield children.
As a result, the charitable collections with the Santa and his sleigh at Waitrose, Sainsbury and house to house around Beaconsfield raised record Christmas donations for Rotary charities of over £3300.
The funds have been donated to the following worthy causes:
Beaconsfield Advisory Centre
Curzon Centre
Hearing Dogs for the Deaf
Helen House

Red Cross (Garvin Ave)
